Ayame Japanese Restaurant
I was honoured to be invited to dine as a guest at Ayame Japanese Restaurant.
AYAME SPECIAL PLATTER
The seafood used in each sushi was exceptionally "melt in your mouth" fresh, although not very strongly flavoured. I enjoyed using the wasabi and soy sauce to enhance the flavour. The scallops was also very tender and easy to chew with a mild flavour of the sea.
SALMON CARPACCIO
The generous drizzling of sauce gave a new flavour sensation to the salmon, tuna and kingfish.
AYAME EYE FILLET
The meat was tender and juicy which made for a filling main dish. It's heavy on the mayo!
PAN FRIED BARRAMUNDI FILLET
The barramundi sits atop a bed of zucchini noodle in a light ginger soy broth. Flavour is quite muted but the texture of the soft flesh of the fish and the slippery noodle made for an amazing sensory experience.
The desserts were quite standard - mochi with sesame ice cream, and cream brulee with matcha ice cream and umeshu (the ice watered it down).
Overall the menu has a great selection from sushi, sashimis, various small dishes and mains, so there's something for everyone here.
I rate this experience: 4/5
