Le Clec 2019

In my previous visits, Le Clec has always excelled in their savoury dishes, and their menu gets updated often. It's completely different than my past 2 visits.

 PORK BELLY BENEDICT $22
Flavoursome, tender and moist, the pork belly had a fatty layer which satisfyingly melted in my mouth, paired with crunchy pork crackling to contrast the rich textures. The dish was served with poached egg, broccolini, sourdough and some sriracha chilli mayo to give it a Asian flavour kick. This item is one of the specials on the day.

 SON IN LAW BENEDICT $17.50
Topped with deep fried soft boiled egg and ham hock. Ham hock is much tastier than pulled pork, as it’s made from the knuckle which has more skin and becomes tender when cooked as collagen breaks down. The egg had a crispy egg white tail but much of the egg’s crispy surface was lost under the sauce. Fried shallots are added creating more Asian leaning flavour. Overall very delicious benedict variation!!

BUTTERMILK HOTCAKES $16
The hotcake had a super spongey softness exhibiting a sweet citrusy flavour from the yuzu curd, topped with thick chocolatey ganache and fresh fruits. Sweet enough for any sweet tooth.
