Mary Miller Cafe 2019

The menu has changed dramatically since my first visit in 2017, introducing a brand new selection of visually stunning dishes with amazing flavours to match.


 CHOCOLATE FRENCH TOAST $20
The toast has a light crisp coating with a bit of custard sandwiched between, decorated with caramelised banana, almond flakes, ice cream, Persian fairy floss, strawberries, marshmallows, oreo crumble and chocolate sauce. Despite all the sweet additions, the dish was not overly sweet and had enough variety to allow experimentation with each bite.

VEGGIE PATCH $19.50 + AVOCADO $4.50 
I overcame my strong aversion to greens and veggie-focused dishes thanks to this beautiful creative styling, reminiscent of a fairy garden. Flavours came from the faint hint of mint in the peas, and the king oyster mushroom and carrot which were cooked and seasoned. The other veggie bits were uncooked, and together created a crisp garden fresh flavour.
Personally I would need a meaty side to finish the second half of the dish as the veggie started to overwhelm my senses.

CRAB MEAT SCRAMBLE $21.50
The scrambled egg contained bits of flavoursome crab meat sandwiched between delicate flakey croissant. The smoked paprika aioli and crispy fried shallots provided contrasting texture and spikes of flavour which really made the dish whole.

My first visit at Mary Miller has always been a memorable one for me with their amazing Pulled Pork Benedict (2017 review).
I'm keen to return and try more of their newer updated dishes.
